Our Mark is quite a sparky little guy. We affectionately call him "Sparky Marky". Trent has said that he has two gears "on" and "off". In other words when he is awake he is completely enjoying life, and if he's not, then he could be konked out anywhere, completely sprawled out and with his mouth wide open. There is no middle ground, or at least there wasn't until he began to read. This child loves to read, and I believe, this is where we found the middle gear. He has devoured books that Trent read in 4th grade. His favorite author is Bill Peet, who has written some quite hilarious books for children. We have actually enjoyed many of them as a family. They are quite silly, but we laugh and enjoy each other so much when we read them. Mark's expressions and spelling have always cracked me up. He spells everything exactly like it sounds, and I find little words all over the house that can be easily sounded out, though not always spelled correctly. On one particular occasion he drew a picture of a giraffe and labelled it as such. It was so cute. I had to take a picture. On another occasion he asked me for some pioneer paint. I had no idea what he was talking about until he told me that daddy used it as a outer coating on the treasure chest that they had made together. I asked him if he was talking about polyeurethane, and he said "Ya mom, that's it, pioneer paint". I guess they do sound a little alike.

  1. So cute!

Bradley said something similar recently. David wanted to hear his verse for "G", and without missing a beat he said, "Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you." Makes sense. "G" and "Dr" do sound similar. Those two guys must be related! :)
